ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS
MTSA President
Qualifications:
- Academic doctoral degree in education, nursing, or a related field
- At least five (5) years of professional and administrative experience (teaching experience preferred)
Responsibilities:
- The President is responsible to the MTSA Board of Trustees.
- The President consults with and informs the Board of Trustees, individually and/or collectively on sensitive School issues and assists the Board in developing and implementing best practices.
- The President maintains a close working relationship with the Board of Trustees Chair to assure effective communication and collaboration.
- The President represents the School to external agencies, to include the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
- The President is responsible for hiring all other administrators. The President collaborates with appropriate individuals in hiring other leadership and staff personnel.
- The President, in collaboration with the Vice President for Advancement and Alumni, has oversight of any capital campaigns as MTSA engages in building projects or other capital improvements.
- The President reviews evaluations by faculty and students and evaluates the administrative and/or academic performance of individuals holding the following positions:

Vice President of Academics
Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the nurse anesthesia program at MTSA, to include both academic and clinical areas
Qualifications:
- Earned Doctoral Degree
- Minimum of five (5) years of teaching and educational administrative experience
- Post-Graduate level courses in curriculum, instruction, and evaluation
Responsibilities:
- The Chief Academic Officer performs each of the following functions or oversees the function of:
- Interviews, hires, and evaluates all faculty with academic appointments

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
- The Chief Academic Officer performs each of the following functions for the MS and DNAP programs:

Job Summary:
Responsible for financial records, bank account maintenance, human resources and general plant operations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Baccalaureate degree in Business Management or Accounting; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting and/or business office management with a knowledge of accounting practices, record keeping, financial statements, financial reporting and accounting software
- Ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively relate to students, staff, faculty, and the community.

MTSA Medical Consultant
Job Summary:
Shares responsibility with the Vice President of Academics to assure that appropriate anesthesia standards of care are taught to the students.
Qualifications:
- Physician, Board Certified Anesthesiologist
- Desire to teach, either in the clinical or academic setting
- Minimum of five years clinical experience
- Prior teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- As Medical Consultant of MTSA, is responsible to the President, the Vice President of Academics.
- The Medical Consultant practices medicine in a local anesthesia department as a private practitioner, and in that capacity is responsible to the Medical Executive Committee and Medical Staff of that facility in the discharge of his professional responsibilities.
- The Medical Consultant of MTSA shares the responsibility with the Vice President of Academics, the Clinical Faculty Committee and the Curriculum Committee to assure that appropriate anesthesia standards of care are taught to the students
- The Medical Consultant participates in the evaluation of student performance at the local medical facility at which he is currently employed.
- The Medical Consultant may teach academic courses, as requested by the Vice President of Academics (as Chief Academic Officer).

Director of Institutional Effectiveness
Job Summary:
The Director of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) is responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining information resources of all types to support decision making, planning, and reporting. The Director of IE provides information and analysis to support administrative decision making, strategic planning, and strategic initiatives; designs and conducts special studies and surveys; prepares oral and written presentations; responds to information requests from internal and external constituents; completes surveys and reports for the federal, state and private agencies; coordinates campus-wide assessment and accreditation efforts; assists campus constituents in using and interpreting institutional data; and convenes task forces as needed. The Director of IE serves as SACSCOC liaison.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required, doctorate preferred, from an accredited institution with a focus in management information systems, social science, higher education, or public administration, or a related field that includes statistical analysis and/or research methodology.
- Three (3) years experience (five years preferred) of increasing complexity in higher education, institutional research, program evaluation, and campus planning, or a demonstrated record of comparable professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in assuring integrity in analysis and reporting, including the ability to analyze complex data sets, identify and troubleshoot data integrity issues within the system, and clean extracted data.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally both orally and in writing, with evidence of success in explaining, presenting, and interpreting data, including producing written reports and making presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially as a member of cross- unit and multi-purpose teams or committees made up of multiple constituents and to lead groups of colleagues as needed.
- Ability to work effectively and professionally with faculty, staff, and administrators.

Manager of Learning Resources
Job Summary:
Helps nurse anesthesia students obtain maximum benefit from the educational program through utilization of diversified education resources. Assist students with media technology in the preparation of research or class activities. Assist faculty in updating skills in media presentations in order to continue to upgrade classroom presentations. Supervise/advise in selection and maintenance and selection of Learning Resource Center (LRC) computer hardware, software and oversee selection of software and other technology vendors. Assist administration in the institutional research and institutional effectiveness processes, as well as accreditation and re-accreditation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Master's degree, preferably in Library Science, Information Systems or Library- media (Graduate work should include selection and utilization of instructional resources, learning and communication theory, cataloging and classification of instructional materials, evaluation designs, and curriculum development.)
- Doctorate degree in Library Science or Information Systems desirable
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Librarian
- Such alternative to above qualifications as the MTSA President’s Council may find appropriate and acceptable
- Must possess a thorough working knowledge designed to organize, evaluate, and maintain a single purpose, anesthesia-specific LRC
- Must possess the ability to work cooperatively in the service capacity with all MTSA personnel.
- Ability to exercise prudent judgment in all acquisitions
Responsibilities:
- Provides training and supervision for LRC Assistant (if applicable)
- Acts as the liaison to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in regard to MTSA students’ technology needs (i.e., VUNETid’s,) and coordinates all student electronic mail accounts at MTSA
- Helps each anesthesia student obtain maximum benefit from the educational program through utilization of diversified educational resources, to include media technology
- Oversees assistance of faculty in updating skills in media presentations in order to continue to upgrade classroom presentations

- Coordinates MTSA LRC needs with available resources in sister institutions

Job Summary:
Financial Aid Counselor provides direct support to the Director of Financial Aid in administration of MTSA graduate student financial aid and provides excellent customer service and guidance to the financial aid applicants. This position determines eligibility within the parameters of institutional, state and federal requirements.
The Assistant Director Financial Aid provides direct support to the Director of Financial Aid in the administration of MTSA graduate student financial aid. The Assistant Director will assist in leading and providing an expert level of service in processing of financial aid requests in accordance with federal guidelines. The Assistant Director will manage the daily operations for the FA office in the absence of the Director.

Clinical Support Specialist
Job Summary:
- Assists the Coordinator of Clinical Support, monitors student Medatrax records, coordinates evaluations and reports, and creates Simulation schedules
- Coordinate all MTSA student evaluations of program including evaluations of academic, admissions, and clinical faculty/sites, QEP, and simulation session for skills lab (including Masters, DNAP Completion, DNAP Practice Doctorate, and non-degree class). Medatrax evaluations require scheduling, releasing data, inputting and updating data as necessary for accurate evaluations, and creating reports for the Program Administrator and/or mentors.

Focuses on Application Design, Development and Testing of MTSA’s D2L/Brightspace LMS. Role will be responsible for IT Delivery and leadership of the newly improved LMS, success factor resources and it’s eco system – including but not limited to: configuration, migration, integration, reporting and testing. This role leads the efforts across all technical work stream to ensure on-time and on-budget (when information is shared) delivery to support the overall project objectives. The technical delivery teams will be a combination of internal resources, system integrator resources and potentially success factor resources.
