JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director, Ultrasound & Pain Management Division, the Director of Clinical Education – Ultrasound & Pain Management provides academic, clinical, and operational leadership for pain management and ultrasound-guided procedural education. This role oversees the clinical education of the Ultrasound & Pain Management (UPM) division. This includes curriculum design, clinical site development, faculty coordination, and integration of content across academic offerings. The Director ensures excellence in teaching, compliance with accreditation standards, and alignment with MTSA’s mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensure as a CRNA with current re-certification by Council of Recertification (COR) of the National Board of Certification & Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
- Doctor of Nursing degree or equivalent
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Current RN licensure
- Current APRN licensure, if required by state Board of Nursing
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as a CRNA desirable
- Minimum of two (2) years of teaching and education administrative experience preferable

- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the Ultrasound & Pain Management (UPM), including curriculum development, faculty coordination, and student engagement.
- Maintain a part-time clinical practice to ensure relevance and credibility in pain management and ultrasound-guided procedures.
- Serve as lead instructor and clinical content expert for ultrasound and pain management courses, including ASPMF Clinical Courses (610, 630, and 650).
- Coordinate cadaveric workshops and continuing education courses held annually (January, March, July, October, November).
- Serve as guest lecturer for DNAP Entry-to-Practice and DNAP Completion programs in topics related to pain management and ultrasound.
- Participate in site visits, preceptor development, and clinical partner engagement to enhance clinical learning environments.
- Ensure curriculum alignment with current best practices, accreditation requirements, and institutional goals.
- Maintain effective communication and mentoring relationships with students and faculty.
- Collaborate with academic leadership on cross-program content integration and long-term program development.
- Serve as project advisor and content expert for fellows' scholarly work.
- Collaborate with Director, Ultrasound & Pain Management Division on curriculum development.
- Other duties as assigned.
