Job Summary
Reporting directly to the Director and Assistant Director of IT – the position will effectively be the Administrator of MTSA’s Learning Management System(s) – Brightspace, iSpring, etc. Coordinator will effectively schedule, communicate, and coordinate all aspects of LMS for all MTSA programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Adult Learning, IT, or related or comparable experience
- 3 years experience being an administrator for an eLearning platform (Desire 2 Learn Brightspace LMS, preferred)
- Demonstrated experience planning and organizing learning technology projects to successful completion
- Ability to apply strong analytic and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and problem solve challenging production issues and implement new features
- Ability to work independently but also collaborates well with team members
- Self-starter that works well in a fast pace environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Collaborates well with others and develops trusting relationships
- Broad technical knowledge base with the propensity and willingness to learn new technologies
Responsibilities
- Help configure the set-up of courses in the LMS and eCommerce sites
- Works on assignments dealing with the routine and daily operation, use, and configuration of the Brightspace D2L
- Manages community areas within the LMS including functionality, appearance, tabs, and settings.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for process and quality improvements, providing feedback on usage, defects, and suggested enhancements.
- Acquires and maintains knowledge of current technology as it applies to LMS software and systems.
- Create, manage, and enforce LMS standards, policies, and procedures.
- Writes and maintains technical procedures and policy documentation.
- Creates and updates resources to train and support learners on how to use the technology for online and professional development.
- Provides troubleshooting assistance for users regarding logging in to the LMS and accessing courses.
- Troubleshoots and resolves issues relating to system functionality and software systems.
- Serve as the point of contact for all LMS related support issues; trouble shoot and resolve issue.
- Consult with and support leadership in configuring solutions, courses and/or programs on our learning platform.
- Help define standard operating procedures for new business practices and technology integrations.
- Ensure LMS content is coherent and consistent with existing tools, policies, and initiatives.
- Act as secondary content manager, ensuring learning entries are well organized, consistent, up-to-date and well-written.
- Manage content changes on the eCommerce site.
- Other duties as assigned.
