Clinical Support Specialist

Job Summary

  • Assists the Coordinator of Clinical Support, monitors student Medatrax records, coordinates evaluations and reports, and creates Simulation schedules
  • Coordinate all MTSA student evaluations of program including evaluations of academic, admissions, and clinical faculty/sites, QEP, and simulation session for skills lab (including Masters, DNAP Completion, DNAP Practice Doctorate, and non-degree class). Medatrax evaluations require scheduling, releasing data, inputting and updating data as necessary for accurate evaluations, and creating reports for the Program Administrator and/or mentors.
  • Coordinate yearly MTSA Faculty and Clinical Coordinator evaluations
  • Create quarterly Simulation schedules
  • Create quarterly reports for Evaluation Committee
  • Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience serving in an academic and/or clinical setting
  • Knowledge of and proficient experience in computer software, Word and Excel, and databases
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are essential, as is ability to relate to students, staff, faculty, and the community

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Coordinator, Clinical Support:

  • Coordinates the TCPS Online Orientation for all classes and reviews documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Coordinates the clinical credentialing for all classes and reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; submits students’ documents to clinical sites
  • Assists in administering, reading and documenting TB skin tests
  • Assists with clinical schedules
  • Assists with maintaining current files for TB skin tests and RN licensure for students.
  • Assists with preparing yearly and monthly schedules (clinical, relief, call and rotation)
  • Assists with maintaining student files to ensure participation at clinical sites
  • Assists in maintaining Vanderbilt parking passes for students
Medatrax:
  • Enroll new classes in Medatrax adding student photo to each account
  • Monitor monthly clinical entries of all students for accuracy, notifying students if there are errors that need correcting
  • Create reports, spreadsheets, time studies, etc.
  • Coordinate timing of evaluations of students and faculty
  • Schedule and monitor all evaluations throughout the program
  • Coordinate and schedule with Clinical Coordinators each student’s clinical evaluation
  • Notify site Clinical Coordinators of any delinquent evaluations needed for transcripts
  • Receive completed clinical evaluations for each student from the site Clinical Coordinators, record grades for Academic Coordinator, and file evaluations in each students’ clinical file
  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly evaluation reports for mentors of each student
  • Maintain student clinical evaluation files
  • Receive all evaluations by students and compile information into quarterly reports, forwarding them to the appropriate committee for review
  • Coordinate with Medatrax any approved revisions, changes, or additional evaluations to be included with MTSA’s evaluation program
  • Create, mail, and monitor post one-year Graduate and Employer evaluations for all MTSA graduates
  • Create and publish quarterly Simulation Schedules for students
  • MTSA main line phone/communication coverage
  • Assists with other school related activities and projects
